As a result of the Governor’s mandate that non-essential businesses work from home, the IC campus has been very quiet.  There are, however, a number of tenants still active on campus working on critical COVID-19 response efforts that offer inspiration as our community comes together to support a wide array of relief initiatives and causes. We are proud of the way the IC community has stepped up and wanted to share some of this work with all of you.

Libby Mattern at Malia Mills is the point person for IC and South Brooklyn on a NYC EDC initiated effort that is gearing up to manufacture medical gowns. At full capacity, they hope to be manufacturing 65,000 gowns a week. Other Industry City manufacturers involved in this effort are That’s My Girl, Double Take Fashions, BMGM, Stitched by Grace, and the Fashion Poet. If you are interested in getting involved with this effort, particularly if you have sewing machines, please contact Libby at:

iMakrFABberz, and RBW are collaborating to produce and deliver medical eye shields to local hospitals. This week alone delivered 250 eye shields to St. Barnabas Hospital and Coney Island Hospital and are preparing deliveries for Maimonides Medical Center and The Brooklyn Hospital Center. If you have 3-D printers or laser cutters and want to be a part of this important work, or have sheets of plastic or 3-D printing material to donate, please contact Jack Keum at iMakr:

There are other essential services initiatives ongoing from hand sanitizer production to medical supply chain deliveries to food and product donations. Industry City is supporting these initiatives by making connections, helping to cut through red tape and providing warehouse space. If you would like to be part of any of these efforts or share the contribution you are making, please email us at

Bars, restaurants, and groceries: Some of the IC restaurants are open for take-out and delivery only, and grocery stores remain open. Click here for a full list of what delivery and grocery options are available at IC.

Working together, we will get through this crisis.

Thank you,
Team IC
