Malik befriended and photographed many locals who happened to be recording and visual artists. He worked with many noted record companies and publishing houses as an event photographer and shooting stills on music videos. Later, he moved into portraiture, magazine features, fashion spreads, album covers, and multimedia applications.

Malik Yusef Cumbo is a Photographer / Artist / Filmmaker / Producer born and raised in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. His first love is the art of photography, and his mother, Fikisha Cumbo, a great photojournalist, was his main influence.

His love for Brooklyn present and past is felt in every piece of his work.
