THE LOFT presents ”Lovers – Connect the World,” a multimedia exhibition by award-winning Japanese sculptor and painter MINAKO YOSHINO, based in New York City, whose work is recognized internationally.

In 2014, YOSHINO’s first monument, ”Lovers,” was presented in Riverside Park, NYC. Since then, she has created other outstanding monuments, including Holocaust Memorial in Englewood, NJ. In 2020, the second Lovers monument, created from a 25-ton marble block in Carrara, Italy, was installed in Toyama, Japan.

As YOSHINO witnessed the 9/11 terrorist attacks in NYC, her artistic creations and public engagements have been based on the theme of love and peace. This exhibition includes YOSHINO’s signature pieces: Lovers – marble sculptures, the masterpiece Symphony of Universe – a 15-ft long painting, Origami videos, Art on denim Kimonos Phoenix & Water God, and Art on Fans.

She is inviting you to join the Connect Origami project. Please Feel free to drop your own Origami crane or to enjoy making one with YOSHINO herself at Free Origami Workshops.
