Buddies Coffee is a Puerto Rican-owned coffee shop co-owned by Rachel Nieves and Taylor Nawrocki. It gained significant attention after Rachel Nieves went viral on social media due to her plea for support from the community to save her business from a potential rent increase and competition from a new café. The shop is known for its coquito lattes and has become a community hub, attracting many patrons and even celebrities like Joe Jonas. Despite facing challenges, Buddies Coffee has been a beloved spot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and has recently reopened in Manhattan after a brief closure. They’ll be doing a tasting of their famous Coquito Latte.
