Industry City and Get It Right Music in association with Murmrr Presents are proud to welcome Les Sans Culottes to Industry City. And after the concert by one of the last bands to ever play the legendary Hank’s Saloon, we will be showing Leon Chase’s “Hank’s Saloon” documentary that will also feature an introduction and Q&A with filmmaker Leon Chase!

Please note: for the concert, there are approximately 60 seats and the rest of the space is standing room. For the movie, there will be about 100-150 seats.

The venue is located in an open-air courtyard featuring a full concert sound stage. Fans can get affordable drinks from the venue’s bar and order food from over 17 options inside the adjoining food hall. Concert is rain or shine.

Take the D, N, R lines to 36th street station in Brooklyn and walk west one block to Industry City. 3 stops from Manhattan. 30 minutes from Herald Square.

From Long Island, take the LIRR to Atlantic Terminal then take the D, N or R train to 36th street.

Named after the citizen-soldiers of the French Revolution (and also the absence of “culottes”!), the Brooklyn-based French language septet, LES SANS CULOTTES, have been performing their inspired variety of 60’s inspired garage rock and French Pop since 1998, in NYC, across the U.S., Canada and France. The band is known for its high-energy, take-no-prisoners, cirque du slay- performance style and has released nine recordings.

For over 100 years, Hank’s Saloon existed, under various names and owners, as a beloved local Brooklyn dive bar.

In 2018, after nearly a decade of speculation and financial uncertainty, the rickety little building on the corner of Third Avenue and Atlantic announced that they would finally be closing their doors for good.

This feature documentary follows Hank’s—along with its colorful staff and rotating cast of oddball patrons—through its stressful and celebratory final months. It also takes a deep-dive into the fascinating history of the building, from its roots as a working-class Irish bar, through its various roles as Prohibition-era speakeasy, Indigenous ironworker hangout, and safe haven in an era of danger and decay, up to its final state as a quintessential “old man bar” turned legendary indie music venue, all pitted against the backdrop of a rapidly changing New York.
