Decompression Art Club
Wed, January 15 | 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This drop-in therapeutic offering utilizes accessible prompts and connective art practices over a 2-hour open studio (all art supplies included!) to reduce isolation and connect with ourselves and others, so that we might unwind from feeling reasonably overwhelmed. This is for people who might benefit from the need or desire to move from 1:1 talk therapy into a group setting or for those who are looking for an introduction into somatic and creative processing. Art supplies and tea included, just bring yourself.
What to expect:
This is a facilitated group experience where ten of us will gather, be offered a prompt to create – draw, fold, paint, (big cache of good supplies).
After a set amount of time, we’ll put pencils/brushes down and engage in a dialogue and what came up for us.
This is an open space, but a closed, and intentionally safe, container led by Naomi Cohen-Thompson, a licensed art therapist.
