The Devil Wears Packaging
Sat, June 6 | 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Shift from 2D to 3D in this rapid-prototyping workshop. Using cardboard as our primary medium, we will explore the basics of 3D sculpture and how to adapt rigid forms to the human body. This session focuses on the architecture of the face and head, guiding you to construct a custom-fit mask, crown, wig or sculptural headpiece that transforms your silhouette. This class is a crash course in manipulating rigid planes into fluid, wearable forms. Whether you are building a bold headpiece or a conceptual accessory, you’ll leave with a unique piece of wearable art and a new perspective on “trash.” This short-form workshop is designed to help you think spatially and build quickly, resulting in a one-of-a-kind wearable sculpture.
