Creative Workspaces at Industry City

January 20, 2026

At Industry City, creative workspaces are woven into the fabric of the campus itself. Spanning 35 acres and 16 buildings along the Brooklyn waterfront, Industry City is home to a dynamic community of artists, makers, designers, and creative businesses working side by side across disciplines.

From ceramicists and photographers to fabricators, sculptors, and multidisciplinary studios, artists at Industry City benefit from an environment intentionally designed to support creative work at every scale. Whether you need a hands-on production space or a light-filled office to think, sketch, and collaborate, Industry City offers flexible leasing options that grow alongside your practice.

A Living, Breathing Creative Community at Industry City

Industry City is home to more than 150 artists and makers across fine art, photography, design, and fabrication. What makes the campus unique is not just the number of creatives, but the way they coexist with complementary industries: logistics providers, fabricators, framers, showrooms, and galleries all within walking distance.

This proximity fosters real collaboration. Artists can fabricate large-scale works, store materials, coordinate transport, and even showcase finished pieces without ever leaving campus. The result is a creative ecosystem where ideas move seamlessly from concept to creation to exhibition.

Creative Workshops at Industry City: Built for Making

For artists whose work is tactile, physical, or process-driven, Industry City’s Creative Workshops provide the ideal foundation.

These creative workspaces at Industry City are designed to support artists at every stage of their practice, from experimentation to production. Workshops range from approximately 500 to 2,000 square feet and feature high ceilings, durable floor loads, oversized operable windows, and access to both passenger and freight elevators. Shared amenities like slop sinks, bathrooms, and conference rooms make it easy to focus on the work without unnecessary overhead.

Creative Workshops are especially well-suited for:

  • Visual artists and sculptors
  • Ceramicists (like Studio Vuono) and textile designers
  • Fabricators and craftspeople
  • Photographers and set builders
  • Artists transitioning from home studios to a professional workspace
  • Appointment-based businesses, from art therapy with Naomi Cohen Thompson to facials at Shann Hitch Studio

With flexible lease terms and 24/7 access, these workshops allow artists to work on their own schedule while remaining connected to a larger creative community.

Creative Offices at Industry City: Where Ideas Take Shape

Not every artist needs a traditional studio, and many creative practices evolve to include administrative work, digital production, client meetings, or collaborative brainstorming. That’s where Creative Offices come in.

Industry City’s Creative Office spaces range from intimate studios to larger team-friendly layouts, all designed with creatives in mind. High ceilings, abundant natural light, and whiteboxed or pre-built conditions create a clean, inspiring canvas for artists who need a quieter, more refined environment to support their work.

Creative Offices are ideal for:

  • Artists balancing studio practice with business operations
  • Designers, illustrators, and digital creatives
  • Photography and production teams
  • Creative directors and multidisciplinary studios
  • Design showrooms and interior design services

For artists whose work spans both physical and conceptual realms, Creative Offices offer a flexible home base, and in many cases, pair seamlessly with a nearby workshop space.

Beyond the Studio: A Campus That Supports Creative Life

Life at Industry City extends far beyond four walls. Artists have access to campus-wide amenities that enrich both their workday and their creative practice, including:

  • Outdoor courtyards and waterfront gathering spaces
  • Dozens of food, beverage, and retail options
  • On-site fitness and wellness facilities
  • Exhibition opportunities, markets, and campus events
  • Easy access to public transit, parking, and freight logistics

With thousands of people on campus daily and a steady flow of weekend visitors, Industry City also offers organic exposure and opportunities for artists to engage with new audiences.

A Place to Grow, Experiment, and Belong

Industry City was built on the belief that creative work thrives in a community. By offering flexible Creative Workshops and Creative Offices within a larger ecosystem of artists, makers, and collaborators, the campus empowers creatives to scale their work without losing the freedom and authenticity that drive their practice.

Whether you’re a hands-on maker, a conceptual artist, or a hybrid creative navigating multiple modes of work, Industry City provides the space and support to help your ideas flourish.
