InContext: Malia Mills, From Swimwear to PPE
Libby Mattern of Malia Mills has been the point person for IC and the South Brooklyn effort in manufacturing of medical gowns. Normally producing high end swimwear, their studio is currently converted to making hospital gowns now, as they quickly pivoted their business to help our frontline workers when the pandemic hit. To date, they have shipped over 418,000 medical gowns to the NYC health department, alongside other IC tenants That’s My Girl, Double Take Fashions, BMGM, Stitched by Grace, and the Fashion Poet.
