Carreau Club, a pétanque bar, adds to its footprint at Industry City
Carreau Club, a pétanque bar, is adding to its footprint in Brooklyn with the opening of an indoor venue at Industry City on Nov. 4.
Aaron Weeks and Dana Bunker opened Carreau Club in 2020, and now they are adding indoor space to the club’s 2,000-square-foot outdoor space.
Pétanque is a French boules sport in which players throw metallic balls at a small wooden target ball.
Nine indoor courts will be in Carreau Club‘s 6,000-square-foot space, located at 68 34th St. in Industry City’s Building 6.
The space also features a full bar with craft beer, wine, and cocktail menus along with a small deli counter that offers French-inspired food.
The pétanque bar is open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 9 p.m.
Some other tenants that have increased their footprint at the campus include Brooklyn Candle Studio, which has grown 18 times its size since its arrival, and MPB, a photography equipment platform that doubled its space to more than 44,000 square feet.
“Retailers like Carreau Club are key to the campus because they take the time to educate their customers about the game, engage them with programming, and build a community around a unique experience,” said Industry City’s Managing Director and Partner Jim Somoza.
