Highline Commerce grabs 27,000 square feet at Industry City

Highline Commerce, a third-party logistics provider, has grabbed 27,000 square feet of space at Brooklyn’s Industry City campus.
Jeff Fein, Industry City’s senior vice president of leasing, told the New York Business Journal that the logistics provider, which focuses primarily on small e-commerce businesses, was at first interested in a smaller space.
“We were initially working together on a smaller space, but decided as we learned about them and what they found to be important that a larger space was a better fit,” Fein said.
Highline Commerce’s space at Industry City will span 27,000 square feet for fulfillment and warehouse operations for its client roster of more than 30 small businesses. There will be 15 Highline employees for the space.
Highline Commerce, Fein says, was attracted to the space’s abundant natural light and Industry City’s roster of amenities and the networking opportunities with other high-profile tenants.
“Industry City was an incredible option for Highline Commerce,” Fein said. “Their new space is triple the size of their previous Chelsea location, has great natural light, multiple loading options with direct freight access and a built-in network of over 550 companies to build relationships with.”
Industry City’s tenants include sales and distribution company Sakatta, which inked a 25,000-square-foot lease last year, and numerous retail tenants, such as Porsche’s 30,000-sqaure-foot showroom, which was leased last year.
Industry City’s location, Fein said, has been one of the space’s major selling points as it is right off the Gowanus Expressway with close proximity to Manhattan and Staten Island. The D, N and R trains are also within close proximity.
“The new space at Industry City will allow us to do more for the businesses we serve, as well as grow our customer roster and our service offering,” founder Richard Hurley said.
